Blue is the color of calm, depth, and infinite possibilities. The sea, the sky, the play of light on water.

Blue continues to inspire me.

ABOUT THE ART

Each piece begins in a quiet moment. Not from pressure… but from feeling.

I shape what I carry within: experiences, emotions, things that stay with me.

My work is deeply personal. A reflection of moments that touched my heart.

Often inspired by the sea, the light, the rhythm, the stillness of it.

Especially the feeling of the Ligurian sea. Sometimes it’s visible in the colors,

sometimes in the forms… but always, it’s there.

I don’t force it. I let it become what it wants to be.

MEET THE ARTIST

PHAEDRA VERGEYLEN

Coming from a family of artists, painters, sculptors, and photo and videographers, I grew up with art as a natural part of life. As a child, I spent my youth on the Ligurian coast, in Rapallo (Italy). The sea, the light, the colors, and the rhythm of life there have deeply shaped me and remain my greatest source of inspiration to this day.

Five years ago, I spontaneously walked into a ceramics workshop. Without expectations, simply out of curiosity. What I discovered there changed everything: clay turned out to be my way of communicating, a medium through which my vision, my free spirit, and my love for art could flow.

Since then, ceramics has become much more than a technique for me. It is a play of creativity, patience, and intuition, but also a personal escape from the busyness of everyday life. While my work in marketing and communication is very intense, I find in clay the slowness, silence, and balance I need. Ceramics keeps my creativity alive.

From my atelier in Wortegem-Petegem, I create pieces where calm, emotion, and craftsmanship come together.

My works are unique ceramic art objects that are sometimes also functional, designed for people who want to experience beauty in the everyday. I draw my inspiration from Liguria: the sea, the rocks, the light, the architecture,

and the shapes of the landscape. I translate these impressions into organic forms and textures, as well as into glazes ranging from deep blues to sandy tones and the warm hues of the natural surroundings there.
